Former Yakima Resident Returns to Host Comedy Special Event
The 27th Annual Seattle International StandUp Comedy Competition, a touring festival featuring professional comedians from across North America, visits Pete's Nightclub in Yakima on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 8 PM.
The show will be hosted by 2005 runner-up and 5-time finalist, former Yakima resident JAMES HENEGHEN. The comedian, whose stage name is simply "Heneghen," attended Davis High School in Yakima and later served in Vietnam. He now lives in Seattle and headlines comedy clubs throughout the U.S.
The show on November 3 will feature 16 contestants performing for 5 minutes each. Comedians from Los Angeles, Boston, Kansas City, Toronto, Dallas, and of course the Pacific Northwest have already accepted invitations to participate.
The Competition begins on Wednesday, November 1 and continues through Sunday November 26, when the winner will be announced.
The winner will receive $5000, and other contestants will split nearly
$10,000 more in cash prizes.
