We Have a New Champion Tuesday, November 29, 2005 - 01:30 AM After 23 shows in 26 days in 18 venues, over 3000 miles and 6000+ audience members, San Diego comedian LAMONT FERGUSON has emerged as the winner of the 26th Annual Seattle International StandUp Comedy Competition. Lamont wins $5000 and will headline The Comedy Underground in Seattle this Thursday-Saturday December 1-3. Second place went to Seattle's HENEGHEN, who rode a closing night 1st place finish to edge out wonderfully funny Canadian GRAHAM CLARK. Fourth was Star of the Future SADIKI FULLER of Houston, TX, and fifth was Andy "Boy Wonder" Peters, who might be the youngest comedian ever to make the finals. Congratulations to them all, and thanks to all the comedians who competed. A shout out to those in Houston and Canada who followed along on the web. Extra thanks to former contestants Sean Proudlove and John Beuhler for driving all the way down from Vancouver to get Graham home safely. We will be keeping this website active all year round, so be sure to check out the series of "Best of The Seattle Comedy Competition" starting New Years Eve and continuing throughout the year at theaters in the region. If you are interested in helping to bring a "Best of the Seattle Comedy Competition" show to your town, please contact Producer Ron Reid (ron@comedyunderground.com). |
