Nathan has continued to make some large strides in a short time, even in the face of adversity. Despite having emergency major surgery where his colon was removed, and having to file bancruptcy, all in this last year, he has excelled onstage. He has taken the lessons that he has taken from his near death experience, along with financial uphill battles resulting from it, and has molded them into onstage material that audiences are able to relate to at some point. His motto is "Find a Way"; and he has. If there is anyone who can turn something as negative as these issues into something hilarious, it is Nathan Brannon.
In that same year, through hard work and determination, he was also the Yakima Valley Comedy Competition Champion. He has performed in some of the largest clubs throughout the west coast; opening for many large names, such as Larry Miller, Matt Braunger, and Maria Bamford.
