Seattle International Comedy Competition

Semi-Finals Night 2 Edmonds Center for the Arts

New policy at the beautiful Edmonds Center for the Arts: drinks allowed in the theater. That's a pretty good source of revenue for non-profit theaters, although likely more so for comedy than ballet. And in the case of the Edmonds Center's NPR-ish audiences, that means tasteful amounts of Washington State Chardonnay and microbrew. Dee-lish.

Former champ Gabriel Rutledge, whose knockout performance on Comedy Central's "Live At Gotham" last Friday still has people talking, hosted the show and had the crowd roaring right off the top. He handed a red hot stage over to the contestants, who definitely made the most of it.

And the judges say ("doo-ta-doo-ta-doot") 1. Sean Kent 2. Matt Billon 3. Derick Lengwenus 4. Travis Simmons 5. Jose Sarduy

Tonight we are off to the lovely Liberty in Puyallup, all the while checking the National Weather Service watch on the Chehalis River re: Saturday. Can you say "force majeur?"

L-R:  Sean Kent (1st), Travis Simmons (4th), Derick Lengwenus (3rd), Jose Sarduy (5th), Matt Billon (2nd), Gabriel Rutledge (host) - you see their faces while the audience sees their butts! Lucky for you.
