(L-R: Gabriel Rutledge, Marcus, Martha Marion, Brian Dowell, Andy Peters, Tony Boswell.)
Saturday night was likely the first time some of the competitors got to
experience the palpable wave of sound that comes from big audience in a
big, acoustically-perfect theater. The New Everett is a 100 year old vaudeville
house, with a configuration that lives on in many of the theaters that house
New Yorks's Broadway shows. Large capacity, yet so compact that it has the
intimate feel of a much smaller space. The audience response was unbelievable.
This show ran over 2 1/2 hours including the intermission, yet when host
Gabriel Rutledge said goodnight, the crowd "called out for more"
(as Procol Harem once said). They loved everybody - but here's who the judges
loved the most:
1. Marcus 2. Andy Peters 3. Brian Dowell 4. Martha Marion 5. Tony Boswell
