Seattle International Comedy Competition

Week 2 Night 2 Chop Suey

This show started either late or early, depending on what your information
source was. Laff Hole, the show produced each Wednesday by our hosts the
People's Republic of Komedy, normally starts at 10 PM; in consultation with
them, we decided to push the start back to 9, since this is such a long show.
Well, we got it going at about 9:30, and were actually successful in walking
the line between waiting until folks got there and pissing off the ones who
arrived early. Whew. This is a sweet room, and the show was great fun.
Proving once again that comedy is comedy, and with the judges sticking to
the criteria, first place went to comic magician Ruben Barron, he of the
spangled vest and audience participation. Nick Hoff and Martha Marion
made their top-5 debut, joining repeaters Marcus and Allyson Smith.
