On the last night of each round, we make a point of explaining to the audience that there will be 2 separate announcements at the end of the show - the top 5 for the night, and the the top 5 for the week, and that they won't necessarily be the same people since the scores are cumulative.
And inevitably what comes to pass is that the comic that's been kicking ass all week has a letdown, and the top comics for the night don't place for the week, leaving the audience somewhat mystified in spite of being vetted for just such a situation.
Tonight was no different.
For the night: 1. Andy Haynes 2. Geoff Lott 3. Rodger Lizaola 4. Lizzie Pilcher 5. Leif Skyving
Lizzie and Rodger has great sets but didn't score quite high enough to move through. Andy's first place finish put him 0.12 points ahead of Rodger and .32 ahead of Lizzie for the final semi-final spot.
For the week, and making the semi-finals and earning a minimum of $500 cash:
1. Kyle Harbert 2. Leif Skyving 3. Geoff Lott 4. Key Lewis 5. Andy Haynes
Kyle and Key's scores through the week were high and consistent enough that their failure to place on the last night was irrelevant.
