The production staff had visions of a smattering of drunk partiers in torn fishnets and a bunch of depressed performers.
That's not the way it happened. Well, there were a couple of drunk partiers in torn fishnets, and the inevitable depressed comic, but they were incidental.
Dave and Angela's shiny new Laughs Comedy Spot was PACKED with appreciative audience members, who stayed up and interested all the way through the long show - 4 of the final 16 performers placed in the top 5.
We suspended the "chicks can't win" rule for the evening, and first place went to Seattle comedian Jaqui Furback.
