Stephen lives for unique and unusual life experiences, whether it is getting lost in underwater caves while scuba diving, being gored by a wild cow at a rodeo, getting chased by the East German border patrol, or completing Ironmans. He has a warped outlook on the world - perhaps it is because he was born deaf, and the doctors told his parents he would never be able to speak. Turns out the doctors were wrong - he can speak. Only problem is that he speaks better when he drinks beer – thus he uses it for speech therapy. His hearing impairment and all of the idiosyncrasies associated with it are an endless source of rich material for him to use for stand-up comedy. He has appeared in numerous venues, including the Canwest International Comedy Festival, and was runner up in Vancouver’s Funniest Comedian with a Day Job competition. He has also appeared on national television in Canada as the subject of a documentary “Between the Laughter” based on his life and stand-up comedy.
